What do I know?
Not much,
except that trees hold wisdom
and that weeds are not bad,
they're only homeless plants.
And that nature is different,
sacred, but sometimes, so cruel.
Praying mantises eat each other.
Why?
A lion cub, wounded, will be
abandoned by its mother.
Humans observe bunny rabbits,
puppies and kittens,
with adoration,
then
go home and cook a cow
or a chicken, or a pig.
Why?
I'm not accusing
anyone,
I just want to know.
And if there's no reason,
then
I want to spread awareness
that this is wrong
Nothing is black and white
but still
sometimes I'm comforted by
the idea, the philosophy, that
we are all one.
I'm just wondering,
does that make you
look at the chicken
with a little more
respect?
